(HealthDay News) -- While it's tough to find time for a long workout, it's easier to squeeze in a few minutes of exercise during the day.

The American Council on Exercise suggests:

  • Take a walk around the block when you get home from work, or park your car a little further from your office building. Take the stairs, skipping the elevator.
  • On a shopping trip, walk for 10 minutes without stopping.
  • Clean your home or work in the yard.
  • Exercise before work or after work. Or exercise during your lunch or coffee break. Ask a co-worker to join you for a quick walk.
